The House of Night series is a vampire-themed fantasy series aimed at young adults. Have read all but the last few – what does everyone think about the Novella? I tend to not want to read spin offs of random characters. I think I get too attached to the main characters. P.C. Cast is an American author of paranormal romance and fantasy novels. She is best known for her House of Night series, which she co-authors with her daughter Kristin Cast. P.C. Cast has also written a couple of series on her own, including the Divine and Goddess Summoning series. I have read books 1-8 of the House of Night series and I am hooked and my only complaint is that it takes an entire year for the next book to be released however I am aware of the work that goes into writing a novel. I can not wait for the entire series to be completed so I can start on the novellas 🙂 I read books 1-8 in one week just couldnt put them down. I highly recommend them to everyone they are must reads and I love the mother daughter duo writing team that is truly remarkable.

Many of those novels had strong enough descriptions of their cities that I felt like a visitor. But most were set in places like New York and Los Angeles, never my home town, Buffalo, and never with an African-American hero. After my 2013 retirement from an English professorship, I began writing the Nickel City mysteries to add a new hero to the PI pantheon and showcase my birthplace, nicknamed for the buffalo head nickel. In the fictional world of House of Night, a small number of people have their DNA changed during adolescence and acquire a mark on their forehead. This signals that they are to be turned into vampires.

Mature vampires have similar but extended marks and also can have tattoos anywhere on the body. The more a fledgling or a vampire defeats evil the more the tattoos on her body grow. Also, like many other vampire stories both the vampires and the fledglings fed on the blood of the human beings. The blood came from willing donors who had a connection with the vampire or fledgling. Awakened, a thrilling paranormal tale by bestselling author P. C. Cast, delves into a world where ancient myths and modern reality collide.
In the Other World her brother is using Old Magick, unaware of the dangers it holds. Without guidance, what will stop him from giving in to the potent pull of Old Magick? Without her guidance, Other Kevin could lose more than the war against Neferet—he could lose his soul. I started reading them when I was a receptionist at a dealership. I am reading hunted right now and I love the series. This is the only series I have read and can stay awake with.
What makes the House of Night series unique?

Tensions escalate in the House of Night, with Zoey at the center, and her friends start turning on her. These books provide additional context to the series but are not necessary for understanding the main story. But there are new forces at work at the House of Night. And then there’s the mysterious Aurox, a jaw-droppingly gorgeous teen boy who is actually more — or possibly less — than human. With everything she’s ever stood for falling apart, and a broken heart making her want to stay in the Otherworld forever, Zoey’s fading fast. After leaving her family behind in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to move into the House of Night, Zoey discovers she has been Marked by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx.
While it’s tough enough to begin a new life, it becomes even harder with this bestowed upon her. Imagine enrolling in a school and graduating as a vampire. The books in the House of Night series order reveal the adventures of one such school.

She also faces dilemmas that could be regarded too minor for someone of her stature. For example through the visions of Aphrodite Zoey is warned to stay away from both Kalona and his dark allure but also reveals that she is the one with the ability to stop the evil immortal. The dilemma comes in when she has to decide between loosing her life, soul and heart. It is the character of the protagonist that makes the story interesting. With the same challenges that face teenage girls today it is easy to relate to the character and consequently her plight. Twelve-year-old Emma Graham she lives with her chef mother, older brother, Will, in the once-grand resort, Hotel Paradise.

Zoey Redbird’s life takes an unexpected turn when she’s marked by a vampyre tracker and begins to undergo the Change into an actual vampire. She leaves her family in Tulsa and moves to the House of Night, a private boarding school for fledgling vampyres. Welcome to a magical journey through the world of the “House of Night,” an acclaimed series of books written by the mother-daughter duo, P.C.
And, as Zoey’s recovering from her recent brush with death along with Stark, she must also confront the confusing feelings that she has regarding the ancient Cherokee maiden A-ya, a dangerously seductive immortal. It’s down to Zoey to convince everyone that Kalona is truly evil and to recruit people to help her put a stop to him and his ways. This 5th book in the series sees a new and unexpected danger that puts them all at risk. Worse yet, an ancient evil has been awakened that threatens so much that Zoey holds dear. Things get really tough for Zoey in this third installment of the series, and it becomes hard to ascertain who is a true friend and a true enemy as alliances switch and trust becomes a very rare commodity. But things don’t stay happy for long, human teenagers are being killed off one by one, and the prime suspects are the residents of House of Night.

Forcing her to leave her ordinary life behind and join the House of Night, a boarding school where she will train to become an adult vampyre.
I love this bookbecause it is direct, non-judgmental, and provides a path to open dialogue. Written from the viewpoint of Darrin as a six-year-oldchild, we trace his growth into adulthood and how he makes sense of race, culture, and trauma growing up as a biracial person in the USA. Thishistorical novel pulses with empathy, humanely portrayed growth, and quietunease, a combination which speaks to the social justice warrior and historyfan in me. L.A.’s authors, from 19th century novelists to Wanda Coleman to Steph Cha, have always pushed genre boundaries and dissected California myths.
From the moment i read the first book i new i HAD to read the entire series n im aiming towards that but i need to no in order which books to read first, takes me a long time to figure it out lol. More precisely, the story is about a sixteen-year-old girl named Zoey Redbird who has just become what is called a ‘fledgling vampyre’. Now, it is required of her to attend the House of Night boarding school in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
As of my last update in September 2021, there is no TV show adaptation of the House of Night series. The intricate world, multifaceted characters, and thrilling plotlines of House of Night certainly have the potential to make for a compelling television series. However, no official announcements have been made regarding a TV adaptation. This is a collection of essays discussing the influences and inspirations for the House of Night series, including discussions on vampyre lore, magic, Wiccan rituals, and the mythology of Nyx. It provides deep insights into the House of Night, making it an invaluable companion for fans of the series. Meanwhile, Zoey has a dream that warns of further tragedies if the House of Night doesn’t change course.
I have read and loved all her books, the newest included! Till the end then they drag on and Zoey becomes obsessed with boys and is a so it. Once i read one i can’t stand being away from the book. I really think you should keep writing House ofNight books!!!!!!!!!!!
As she makes her way through her time in this rather extraordinary school, Zoey must deal with all the usual trials and tribulations of being a young adult, all the while having all such drama heightened by supernatural goings-on. OMG……… I want Hidden to come out I’ve read the last book and I’m left hanging. YES i have read them all.I could read them again and again.I cant wait til book no 10 comes out.. I am obsessed with these books they are awesome, and now I’m waiting for Destined to come out. The novellas also focus on other characters like Dragon Lankford, Lenobia, Neferet, and Kalona, providing their backstories. The series also explores themes of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and the moral dilemmas faced by the characters.
